Florida Director of Photography: Tyler Williams DP

If you're searching for a Florida Director of Photography with national-level credits and the flexibility to work across the entire state - Tampa, Orlando, Miami, and everywhere in between - you've landed in the right place.

My name is Tyler Williams. I'm a DP and Gaffer based in Central Florida, and I've spent the las

t several years building a body of work that spans streaming platforms, national brands, and some of the most demanding productions in the Southeast.

What I Do

As a Director of Photography, my job is to translate your creative vision into images that feel intentional, cinematic, and emotionally resonant. Whether that's a tightly controlled studio environment or a guerrilla-style run-and-gun shoot on the streets of Miami, I approach every project with the same discipline: understand the story, find the light, and execute with precision.

I also work as a Gaffer and Lighting Director - so beyond operating the camera, I have a deep understanding of how light shapes image. That dual perspective is rare, and it makes a real difference on set. When you hire a DP who also thinks like a lighting designer, the images show it.

Credits You Can Verify

I've had the privilege of working on productions for Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV, Paramount, Peacock, and WWE - not as a PA or camera trainee, but in above-the-line and department-head roles. These weren't background gigs. They were projects where the look of the image mattered, and where I was trusted to deliver it.

That experience informs everything I bring to the table, whether I'm shooting a $500K commercial or a boutique brand film for a regional client. The discipline is the same. The eye doesn't change based on budget.

Why Florida?

Florida is a seriously underrated production hub. The diversity of locations - coast, swamp, city, suburb, art deco, industrial - gives directors and brands access to visual variety that most states can't match. And the production community here has matured significantly over the past decade.

Tampa and Orlando have both seen major growth in commercial, corporate, and entertainment production. Miami continues to attract fashion, music video, and high-end commercial work at a volume that rivals Los Angeles and New York for certain project types.

I'm positioned to work across all three markets - and beyond. My home base is Central Florida, which puts me within a comfortable drive of virtually any location in the state. I travel for productions regularly and am available nationally for the right projects.

Who I Work With

My clients range from national brands running regional campaigns to independent filmmakers who need a DP they can trust to problem-solve in the field. I've worked with ad agencies, production companies, in-house marketing teams, documentary crews, and network television units.

Common project types include:

- Brand and commercial work for corporate clients and agencies

- Narrative short films and feature projects

- Documentary and non-fiction production

- Event and live coverage for major organizations

- Music videos and artist content

If you're producing something in Florida and need a DP who shows up prepared, communicates clearly, and delivers images that make your project look like it had a bigger budget than it did - that's what I do.

Let's Talk

The best way to know if we're a fit is a quick conversation. I'm happy to discuss your project, your timeline, your budget, and what you're trying to achieve visually. No hard sell. Just an honest conversation between professionals.
